  • Therapy is a sacred time. You are choosing to spend your energy on your healing. It’s not just about what’s happening in the therapy room, but also the work and exploration you are doing outside the room. You can expect to start getting more curious about yourself, your healing, your family patterns, your unique make-up – and that curiosity may lead you to watching videos, reading books, having new conversations or other explorations. As trauma therapy begins to come to a close, you may notice that you have more energy to explore things that bring you joy. For those working to allow grief in their life you may notice an increase in positive memories about your loved one. Since you are a unique individual, you can expect that therapy will fit you. Therapy is a collaborative process that can be uncomfortable at times, similar to how you’d feel if you were going to physical therapy. You know it’s challenging, but it will make you function better in the long run.

  • Whether our time together is several sessions, several months, or longer, I am here to help you connect to a more meaningful life. For some, therapy can be simply learning and practicing a few new skills. For people with complex trauma it is common that therapy to last longer than this.

For couples, I believe in the power of even a month of sessions to increase empathy for one another. You may want to consider our couples intensives to allow for more time for processing.

  • Yes, beyond basic coping skills, which is a good start, trauma therapy addresses the root of the problem. Trauma therapy is focused on processing experiences so that the power of these decreases. Most clients state that a processed memory feels more neutral and fades into the background. Couples therapy will tend to focus more on the here and now, but will also touch on the past as it impacts your interactions. As with any therapy, you never have to participate in anything you're not ready for.

  • I cannot connect with any clients on social media platforms or respond to emails. Please note the protocol for crises as I am not permitted to reach out to clients who are not currently receiving care.

  • Cash-pay clients are entitled to an estimate, called a Good Faith Estimate. All healthcare providers are required to provide estimates for the costs of your care. The Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs and treatment. This will be provided by this office upon scheduling and/or as requested. This Good Faith Estimate does not include unexpected costs that could arise during treatment. If you receive a bill that is $400+ more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises and click the link the bottom of this page for more information.
